In the future after the pandemic ends, it is predicted that there will be changes here and there as a form of adaptation. In travel industry, services like in hotel will be quite different from before the pandemic.

Changed landscape in travel industry

The pandemic will end as it is getting better and some places have already eased their travel restrictions. People have started considering to go on a vacation even just for a domestic travel. However, there will be changed landscape you notice during your travel such as when you stay at a hotel during a vacation. Here are what you can expect next time you go on a vacation:

New rules and regulations are applied as precautions. Many tourism places are already opened. However, people who can get inside are abide by rules such as wearing a mask, washing hands, following temperature check, etc. Screening in the entrance will be a new thing you will see within travel industry even after the pandemic ends.

Next time you check in to a hotel, the service will be more tech and less touch. Even though this is not something in some hotels in Japan for example, other places will follow through. New operational norms and designs are being planned to ensure everyone safety and comfort during the stay. In-room features are also being considered by hospitality industry. This will allow the guest who stay in the hotel to use their smartphone to operate and control features in the room such as turning on TV, adjusting room temperature, or order room service. Thus, there is no need to use remote or in-room telephone to be able to do those things anymore.

In dining options, it is predicted to change after the pandemic. In the past, we always love to enjoy dining through limitless buffets. However, there will be limit o dining options to adapt to a post pandemic reality. Dining option today is relied on single-serve, grab-and-go-trays. Room service breakfast will also change into more efficient way to reduce contact by using knock and drop method.

Cleaning practices will be increased even after the pandemic ends to ensure the hygiene. After the rooms being cleaned, they will be vacant and ventilated between guests at least for 25 hours. Thus, it allows times for any airborne germs to die before the next guests occupy the room. Some hotels even already limit the number of guests.
